For Issue 1, Part 0 provides this reading guide and the master support documents. It is also the home of any pending review elements. The guide helps readers find their way into General Organisation Theory (GOT), follow the papers and recover information across the series. The technical arguments are developed in Parts 1–3, culminating in The Epistemic Method (TEM).
Start with the preludes
The preludes provide an accessible route into the papers. Each introduces the question its Part addresses, the approach it proposes, and the sequence of papers through which the argument develops, together with the potential stakes.
For the quickest overview, read the master preludes document presented beside this reading guide.
For a full reading, follow each prelude with its papers before moving to the next Part.
Prelude | Route into the papers |
|---|---|
Part 1 | On the Origin of Life |
Part 2a | Informational Architecture |
Part 2b | Knowledge, Intelligence, and Observation |
Part 3a | Horizon and Unknown Discipline |
Part 3b | Power, Responsibility, and Trust |
Part 3c | The Epistemic Method |
The Epistemic Toolkit (pending human verification)
The Epistemic Toolkit (TET) is a first draft mathematical treatment of TEM. TET remains suspended because the draft has not yet been human verified and I don’t have the level of expertise necessary to validate the structure before we move onto Volume 2 that will need the underlying mathematical machinery. Its integration is planned for Issue 1.1, subject to human verification.
Essays
Essays are opinion pieces derived from TEM, intended for publication at https://goto-go.com/#/theory/essays. The essays explore interpretations and implications of a world viewed via The Epistemic Method and its authors perspective in it. As such these are opinion derived of experience and interpreted through a TEM aligned thought process. The ideas and metaphors within will extend past what can be fully closed to try and open a path to deeper enquiry. These are shorter, deliberately thought provoking reads.
Book: General Organisation Theory: An introduction to The Epistemic Method
Status: pre-release initial draft
General Organisation Theory: An introduction to The Epistemic Method is available as GOT Book - Test Read 1. It provides a continuous introduction to the concepts and connections developed across the papers. Readers may use it as an optional test read; the preludes remain the main entry route, and the papers govern the technical definitions and arguments.
Master support
The five master support documents bring together the series-wide reference material. Use them when you need to recover a term, trace a connection between Parts or find the source of a claim. These have been designed specifically to help large context LLM’s hold a conceptual working of TEM (caution advised, these documents as a context layer for an LLM is very useful but far from infallible, the better you understand the underlying work, the more useful they become as a tool for assessing outwards. These are powerful in the right hands, not a plugin oracle on the method itself.)
Master document | Use it to |
|---|---|
MSD00 | Find the master documents and the current sources on which they are based. |
MSD01 | Recover the overall architecture and the connections between concepts. |
MSD02 | Find a technical term and the paper that defines it. |
MSD03 | Check known misreadings, failure modes and the relevant diagnostic guidance. |
MSD04 | Locate scholarly sources and their recorded relations to the papers. |
